Types of College Degrees

There are five recognized types of college degree programs, namely: certificate of completion, Associate’s degree, Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, and a Doctorate degree. Certificates of completion are sometimes called mini degrees. Master’s degree is more valuable for Students interested in jobs or careers involving international business and technology.
Associate’s Degree is a two-year degree that is generally given out by junior colleges, community colleges and business colleges. Bachelor’s Degree is a four-year degree that most people think of when they think of a college degree.

Master’s Degree is the above of Bachelor’s Degree, it allows a person to gain a greater degree of qualification for highly paying, jobs. Doctorate is the highest degree in this hierarchy and this is given to those who are experts in their field. The absolute highest college degree a student can receive is a Doctoral degree and takes approximately 5 years for the average student to complete a Doctorate degree.
